Research
My research focuses on developing optical techniques to investigate electronic correlations and topology in two-dimensional moiré materials. In particular, I use excitons in monolayer transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) as sensitive thermodynamic sensors to locally measure chemical potential, compressibility, and entropy. These techniques enable the study of interaction-driven quantum phases and topology in strongly correlated electronic systems, including Mott insulators, generalized Wigner crystals, Chern insulators, and fractional Chern insulators.
