November, 2016: Paul McEuen, the John A. Newman Professor of Physical Science and director of the Kavli Institute at Cornell for Nanoscale Science, is heading Provost Michael Kotlikoff’s new faculty hiring initiative task force on nanoscale science and microsystems engineering (with co-director Professor David Muller). He spoke to the Chronicle about pushing nanoscience at Cornell to the next level, the challenge of recruiting midcareer faculty who bridge disciplines, “radical collaboration,” and the importance of asking, “What if?”
