Research

I use advanced synchrotron X-ray techniques to study how nanoscale structure affects the performance of next-generation energy storage materials. In particular, I apply Bragg Coherent Diffractive Imaging (BCDI) to probe individual nanoparticles, which allows three-dimensional mapping of internal strain and defects such as dislocations and twin domains under in situ and operando conditions. By tracking how defects and strain evolve in real time, my work provides insight into nanoscale mechanisms that are often hidden in bulk measurements and helps guide the design of more durable, high-performance battery materials.
